The organic restaurant is one of our top tips for Erlangen if you value freshly prepared organic ingredients. The lunch and dinner menu changes daily, depending on what is available in the different seasons. Among other things, this prevents a lot from being thrown away at the end of the day. Usually there is always something on the menu. A fish and a vegetarian dish are always included. Even if you cannot eat everything on the menu, for example because of food intolerance, it is not a problem to ask for an adjustment to the dish. The staff is always very accommodating and always tries to offer the guest an alternative option. That surprised us positively the first time, as we were used to most restaurants serving dishes in advance. The dishes are also visually very appealing. Due to the friendliness, the atmosphere (like a relaxing mini island in the city) and the delicious, fresh food, we can highly recommend the nutmeg!

I always enjoy going to the nutmeg for dinner. The dishes are fresh and taste delicious. Likewise the wonderful cakes. The service is also very friendly and attentive.

Very nice restaurant with a patio. The food is made from high quality organic ingredients, as are the drinks and coffee. The toilets are equipped with cloth towels, very environmentally friendly. The owner and staff are friendly.

Delicious homemade soup

Not impressed at all. The risotto was stacked with fried celery slices? The beef was overcooked and dry, the halibut was very fishy and smothered in sauce. The wine was just OK - listed incorrectly on the card. We were the only 2 people in the restaurant and it took 25 min to receive the starter and about 45 min to receive the main dish. I had wanted to visit this restaurant for quite some time, but left paying 100 euro, feeling very unsatisfied.

Very nice small restaurant in old city. Light delicious food. Pro: good and fresh eco ingredients, vegetarian friendly, excellent service, large variety of wines. Contra: small variety of dishes, but all of them are different and tasty.

External area nice. Good service. Good wine. Terrible pasta: different types of pasta (see pics) boiled and cooked all together, hence the average was overcooked and already smashed. I wasn't able neither to pick them with the fork, I had to use the fork like a spoon. Furthermore the dished arrived "in a swimming pool of sauce" (see pics(. It was more like a soup. I have never eaten such a bad pasta. The Chef should go back to school (if ever attended a cooking lesson) and I should get my money back. Price extremely crazy expensive. Never again.

I just love this place, daily menu of fresh dishes, high quality of food, amazing service. I just love this place.

My fiance and I were roaming around Erlangen on our way to the Bergkirchweih fest looking for a late lunch. Most of the town was closed up. I had always told my fiance how I had found some of the best places to eat in Germany by lookng for out of the way places down alleys, sidestreets and off the beaten path. The Muskat exceeded our expectations. The staff was very friendly and quick to help us with those items we had trouble understanding with our limited knowledge of the German language. The food was was great. The ambiance was fabulous. I was stationed in Erlangen while in the US Army many years ago and have been back several times since. This is the overall best restaurant I have eaten in while in Erlangen. Although the restauant sits at the back of a courtyard it is open, airy and well lit. On this trip it was the only restaurant that we ate at twice and if I return next year I'll be there again too. Thank you to the entire staff for two wonderful meals.
